Aria's POV
I struggled to straighten myself up: "No problem. I'll stand at the door and see you off."
Aiden frowned, clearly unsatisfied with my answer. But he didn't say anything, turning to get in the car.
I smiled as I watched Aiden get in the car, then turned to go back inside. Suddenly, a sharp pain in my knee made my leg buckle.
Fortunately, I reacted quickly enough to grab the door frame.
I had just steadied myself when I heard the harsh sound of brakes. Confused, I looked outside.
Wait, hadn't the car already left? Why was it backing up?
As I stood there puzzled, the rear door opened and Aiden stepped out.
"Do you have something else to tell me?" he demanded.
