Aria's POV
I watched Aiden standing in the entryway, changing his shoes. His glasses sat perfectly on his strong, straight nose—something I rarely saw outside our home.
"Why are you wearing glasses today?" I asked, taking his coat from his hands.
"Had a video conference," he replied, his arm snaking around my waist without warning.
Remembering Lucy was in the house, I felt suddenly self-conscious and pressed my hands against his chest, trying to create some distance between us. My attempt backfired spectacularly—instead of releasing me, he pulled me closer until my body was practically flush against his.
Aiden lowered his head, his warm breath fanning across my face. My cheeks instantly heated as I stared at him up close. With those glasses on, he had this whole intellectual-but-dangerous vibe going on that was doing strange things to my insides.
