Chapter 4 Who Is He?

Janice knocked her head hard on the ground and said, “I swear I’ll never disturb your lives again, Miss White. Please don’t complain to Mr. Crawford, and please don’t ask him to retract Jared’s right of inheritance. It’s all my fault…” Gwen had no idea what she was talking about! Her head ached, and she got off her bed shakily while putting her hand on the wound. Before she had even touched Janice, Janice suddenly raised her hand to slap herself and fell to one side. “Ah —” “Bam!” The ward’s door was suddenly opened, and Jared, who had somehow returned after leaving, rushed in. He pushed Gwen away before she could even explain. “Gwen White, how dare you bully Janice again!” Gwen fell to the ground, and her forehead was bleeding so much that she almost passed out. Janice sobbed. “Jared, I love you, I love you so much that I’m willing to die, but Miss White said she’ll ask your dad to retract your right of inheritance if we’re still together. I can’t watch you lose everything, so let’s… Let’s break up…” Jared had always viewed his marriage with Gwen as a humiliation. It was not only because it pointed out the fact that he was threatened, but also because it kept reminding him of how he was cheated on during their wedding night! Therefore, he was enraged when he heard that Gwen had actually threatened Janice with the matter. Jared turned his hand to grab Gwen by her neck to carry her to the window. “Gwen, you’re courting death!” He used so much strength that Gwen could not breathe, so she struggled. “Jared…” “Do you think I’ll still be afraid of your tricks? I’ve had enough of you! I’ll send you to hell now!” Jared exerted more strength to push Gwen harder such that half of her body was already outside the window. They were roughly seven floors above the ground at that moment. On the other hand, Gwen grabbed Jared’s hand tightly. “No, no, it wasn’t me who said those words…” Gwen was finding it harder to breathe, whereas Janice smiled smugly behind Jared. ‘He’s really intending to kill me.’ Gwen felt like she was close to death for the very first time. “Jared…” She gathered all her energy to utter his name. Tears began rolling down her eyes, and they dripped onto the back of his hand along with her blood. Gwen’s cries were so sorrowful, despairing, and painful. “Why do you never believe me? Am I that unbearable to you? “Ten years, it has been ten years! From 15 years old to 25 years old, from secondary school to university, from a girl into a wife, you’re the only one in my eyes and my heart, and I gave my all to love you. I don’t blame you for not loving me, but how can you… How can you not give me even a bit of trust? “What have I done that was so unforgivable that you hate me so much and want me to die…” ‘He has always been like that. She forced me to marry her by using her dad’s saving grace unto my dad, how can I stand the ridiculous humiliation? ‘Besides, she cheated on me on our wedding night, I’ve been kind enough to not kill her!’ However, when Gwen poured her heart out, something emerged from a corner of Jared’s heart, hence his heart ached at that moment. Upon noticing Jared’s strange expression, Janice was worried he would sympathize with Gwen. She blinked and immediately pretended to faint. “Jared…” Jared’s attention was instantly shifted. He let go of Gwen and quickly ran over to Janice. “Janice!” Janice shut her eyes as though she was unconscious, so Jared quickly carried her. He said before he darted out of the ward, “Gwen, I’ll settle this with you next time!” Gwen lay on the ground powerlessly. Blood was still flowing from her wound. Nobody came to save her even after a long time. ‘Am I really going to die?’ Her eyes were slowly closing, but she noticed through the gap between her eyes a tall figure entering the ward. ‘Who… ‘Is he?’
