Chapter 158
"What do you want for breakfast tomorrow?" Victoria finally finished tidying up and relaxed, a small smile appearing on her face.
Theodore couldn't look away from that bright smile of hers.
He honestly couldn't remember the last time she smiled like that—so open and carefree.
Feeling his intense gaze, Victoria grew a little flustered.
Theodore finally snapped out of it, eyes softening as he looked at her calm expression again, some disappointment creeping into his heart.
"I'm not picky. Whatever you make, I'll eat it," he said gently, his tone low and sincere.
"It's getting late. I'm gonna head in and get some sleep." Victoria avoided his gaze, turning quickly to escape.
Back in her room, she shut the door fast and leaned against it, trying to get her racing heart under control. What was wrong with her? It was just a look. Just a warm voice. Why was she all shaken up?
Clutching her chest, she closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. It took her a while to calm herself down.
