Chapter 230

"Let's eat out tonight," Theodore suggested. Victoria wasn't going to let him cook, and honestly, he didn't want her to tire herself out either. Eating out was just easier. "Sounds good. Let's keep it simple—I know a spot nearby that does pretty solid homemade food," Victoria agreed without hesitation. She was too tired to even think about cooking. The place was actually introduced to her by Chloe, but she chose not to mention that part. No need to stir up any jealousy again. Once they got in the car, Victoria gave him a disapproving look. "You seriously drove yourself here?" Lately, Theodore had been pretty obedient to her words—except for this. He was oddly stubborn about it and kept insisting he was fine. "Come on, Vic. I'm not made of glass. I'm just a guy with a mild injury that's already healed. I promise I'm totally okay now," he reassured her, trying to lighten her mood. He genuinely appreciated and enjoyed how much she cared, but sometimes it came with a side of exasperation.
