Hearing that, Grace finally showed a hint of a smile again.
Henry drove her back as per the address she gave, only to realize she was staying at a hotel.
"You're living here?" Henry couldn't help but frown.
"Had a fight with my mom. Figured I'd rather stay out for a bit," Grace answered directly.
She didn't feel like hiding anything in front of Henry—it felt easy, like she could just talk honestly without thinking twice.
But Henry was a little caught off guard by her openness. Still, what really got to him was the idea of her staying alone at a hotel.
"It's not exactly the safest thing, you know," he said, a bit uneasy.
"It's fine, honestly. I'm at one of the nicest hotels in Abyndale. It's not like anything bad's gonna happen." Grace didn't seem too bothered.
But Henry wasn't convinced. No matter how high-end the place was, there were always risks. Having money didn't make people good.
"Why don't you just stay at my place for now?" he blurted out before thinking it through.
