Victoria had prepped herself mentally for this visit. Walking in with Theodore by her side, she expected pushback from William and Hannah, maybe even to be scolded again. What she didn’t see coming was how much worse Hannah had gotten.

Seeing Hannah now, Victoria’s heart clenched. Her voice trembled: “What happened to her?”
William let out a heavy sigh. “After that fake Gina suddenly disappeared, Hannah couldn’t handle losing ‘Gina’ all over again. The shock... it did this to her.”
It hadn’t been that long since Victoria last saw them, yet William’s hair had clearly gained even more white strands. Whether they were sorrow-white or stress-white, it was hard to tell.
