Theodore clenched his fists, a sarcastic smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
What a perfect little damsel-in-distress setup. He bet Victoria was already head over heels for Henry by now.
"Theodore."
Victoria's heart gave a painful thump. The fear and panic she'd been holding back all came crashing down the second she saw him.
She almost ran to him, craving the comfort only he could bring in moments like this. Just seeing him show up—it used to feel like sunshine breaking through a storm.
But Theodore just shoved a hand in his pocket, walking toward her with a face that looked like stone.
His eyes zeroed in on her hand clasping Henry's arm, and every inch of him was fighting the urge to rip them apart.
A cold sneer curved his lips.
"Wow, Victoria. Moving on pretty fast, aren't we?"
That single line hit her like a freefall into an endless void.
To him, she must've been so into Elijah that now, even a stand-in would do, as long as she could keep dragging the fantasy on.
