Victoria's left cheek burned red. She lowered her head, completely at a loss on how to face Theodore.
Why was he here?
And of all times, he had to show up when she looked like a total wreck.
The hospital room was dead silent.
From the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of him still standing beside the bed. He hadn't left. She bit her bottom lip and finally asked, "Do you still need something?"
Without answering, Theodore took a step closer.
"What did they mean back there?"
He'd overheard Hannah calling her a murderer and cursing her to a miserable death. Was this all still about Gina?
"This has nothing to do with you."
She said it flatly, not wanting him to think she was putting on a pity act. After all, some things were better left unspoken, especially family messes.
The truth was, she didn't even know who was out to smear her name.
