"Alright, just tell me where you are, I'll have someone pick you up."
After all, he was asking Victoria for a favor. It didn't sit right to let a woman head to the station all alone in the middle of the night. And especially not tonight—tons of people out, and cabs were gonna be a nightmare.
Honestly, the police chief hadn't expected her to pick up at all.
Victoria was about to give her location, but then she remembered where the Chambers' old estate was.
It was not only remote but also tightly guarded. So instead, she gave an address nearby.
"Just wait for me at the intersection, I'll be there soon."
With that, she turned to head downstairs—right as Theodore was stepping out with his car keys in hand.
They locked eyes. His steps faltered for a beat.
He had overheard her mentioning she was heading out. Now he frowned. Where could she possibly need to go at this hour?
Victoria didn't have many close friends, apart from Henry. And now even he was out of the picture?
