Chapter 74
A tiny crab, no bigger than a thumbnail, scuttled across the pages of the book.
"A giant crab or something?" Victoria glanced at Henry, puzzled.
The sea breeze lifted her hair, and she looked a little lost, wide-eyed in confusion.
Henry stared blankly at her, totally missing the moment when the crab made its getaway.
"Henry, are you zoning out?" Victoria waved a hand in front of his face.
Snapping out of it, he blinked a few times, then mumbled, "No, uh... just realized it's getting late. Are you hungry?"
Now that he mentioned it, Victoria noticed the dull ache in her stomach—she hadn't eaten properly in days.
Seeing her nod, Henry offered, "There's this seafood place nearby that's really good—they catch everything fresh every day. Want me to take you there?"
