Chapter 1 Be My Lover

Alluring night. Clothes were scattered all over the place. Regina Miller had a thick, fine sweat covering her forehead. To prevent herself from gasping, she clamped her lips. She didn't want to be heard by the man, but a weak coquettish groan spilled from her throat. "Mandel...can we just do this once tonight? It hurts too much..." She cast a slight sidelong glance towards the man. She couldn't interpret the feelings in his deep eyes two years ago. "Don't forget that it was you who made the initiative to come to the door to make a bargain with me, and the condition was your body," the man said as he gripped Regina's hands and lifted them upward. His tone was contemptuous and mocking, and his actions became more violent. In a flash. Regina felt as if she were trapped in an ice cave. Her skin was shivering, and her heart was aching slightly in her chest. He merely treated her as a whore and a tool to be used for pleasure from the beginning to the end. "A million dollars has been deposited into your bank account." Mandel Martin didn't even look at Regina like if he'd never made love to her. He pulled out all at once without any hesitation. After saying that he had entered the bathroom. Regina was naked and pulled the quilt over to wrap herself tightly. Her ears were filled with the sound of water pattering in the bathroom. She could see the man's broad form by looking sideways. She would never forget being imprisoned two years ago as a result of Mandel's mother's ploy. These two years in prison had always felt like a small mountain, a thousand pounds on her back. She couldn't even take a breath. But now. She was out of jail. She was forced to suffer humiliation under Mandel for her mother's medical expenses. Her cheeks were still flushed, offering a hint of seduction. Her exposed flesh was ambiguous, but her eyes were filled with humiliation and resignation. There was no way. Despite the ache in her body, she picked up her clothing and put them on, hoping to visit her mother in the hospital sooner. Behind her, there was a calm sound of footsteps. Regina did not pause, simply touching the cold door handle. "What are your plans? You're going to find another man to sell your body to?" Regina's body stiffened slightly. As she turned back to look, her heart felt like it had been stabbed by a needle. The man was dressed in a white bathrobe that was open to reveal a lean, sturdy chest with water droplets sliding down it. "It's none of your concern. In the end, I not only got paid, but I also got to have fun. What a steal." Regina snorted. She was no longer the frail one she had been two years before. Mandel's expression stiffened slightly, and a look of surprise crossed his face, as if he hadn't expected Regina to refute him. "You are no different than a whore in my eyes," he said, gathering his emotions and his eyes full of indifference. Regina's eyelids drooped slightly, her lips hooked in a sneer, "Yes, I am a prostitute, but didn't you also fuck me?" Mandel seemed to be in a trance as he looked at her. He didn't seem to recognize her in any way. Her features were the same as they had been two years before, but she exuded an awe-inspiring aura. "Well, it appears that you suffered in prison for two years in order to become more eloquent." Mandel's face was expressionless, but his tone was tinged with indifference and sarcasm. Regina sarcastically laughed and said, "Mr. Martin, if there's nothing else, I'll leave first." Her hand had not yet touched the cold, glowing metal of the door handle. "Who authorized you to leave?" Behind her, a cold voice rang out. Step by step, Mandel approached the past. His hand was propped on Regina's head, his gaze as sharp as a hawk on her. Regina's nose lingered with a hint of the smell of the man's body shower gel as the two were very close. "What the hell are you thinking? Our agreement has expired." Regina couldn't help but feel nervous. "Be my lover." The man spat out a sentence slowly. The bottom of Regina's eyes was filled with concern. She locked her gaze on the man. She didn't back down and was determined. "I decline." "Are you certain?" Mandel's eyes narrowed slightly. His body leaned in closer, and his tone was tinged with melancholy and threat. No one had ever dared to refuse him. "I'll say it again, Mr. Martin. Our agreement has expired." Regina shoved Mandel away and turned around to leave. Outside the door. Regina exited the opulent and extravagant hotel. The sun was still shining brightly, but she felt a chill on her skin and an uneasy feeling in her stomach. She couldn't stop herself from tightly hugging her clothes. "The engagement of Mandel, the eldest son of Martin Group, and Cecily Green, a hefty celebrity, was recently announced. Every major business and entertainment figure has congratulated them..." Boom! Regina's lips trembled slightly, and the voice in her ears sounded like fireworks exploding from the sky in her head. There was only a blank space left. She followed the voice and looked at the two familiar faces projected on the tall building's giant screen, and she wasn't mistaken. It was Mandel and Cecily. In the screen. Their movements were intimate. Mandel, who had always been cold, had a rare gentle smile on his face and tender eyes. Regina's fingertips were white-pinched, but there was no time for "pain." Her thoughts were interrupted when the phone in her pocket rang. "Hello, is this Regina, the family of Marina Miller? This hospital will be unable to treat your mother for the time being. Could you please bring the patient to the hospital?" "I've sent the funds to the hospital. Is the money insufficient?" Regina instinctively clutched her phone. "It's not that we won't help, Miss Miller...please pick up your mother as soon as possible..." The phone caller's voice was hesitant, with a hint of fear in it. Regina hung up the phone and gritted her teeth as she read the name, "Mandel." Almost all of the hospitals in this city are owned by the Martin Group. Mandel is also the Martin Group's eldest son and has always wielded considerable power. He had the authority to determine whether the patient would live or die. The cold and fear spread throughout her body, from the soles of her feet to the top of her head. "Mom! You must be well!" Regina appeared pale. Ignoring her body's pain, she dashed towards the road and stopped a cab to run to the hospital. In the hospital. Regina entered the ward, but the bed was already empty. She hadn't seen her mother. "What happened to the patient in this bed?" She inquired hastily of the nurse. "Regina, I am here," a weak voice said from behind Regina. "Mom..." Regina couldn't help but mutter, "First, I'll go find the doctor. I'm confident I can persuade him to save you." "You don't have to go, Miss Miller. The doctor is incapable of helping." The nurse on the other side persuaded her. "Does the Martin family have anything to do with this?"
