Emily's POV But before any of us could move, a dozen Silverdawn wolves materialized from the shadows, surrounding us with bared teeth and glowing eyes. "Now," Shane tsked, wagging a finger like he was scolding naughty children. "Let's not do anything hasty. After all, we wouldn't want anyone to get hurt, would we?" I felt a growl building in my chest, my magic surging to the surface in response to the threat. But as I tried to call it forth, to weave a spell of protection around us, I felt... nothing. It was like trying to grasp smoke, my power slipping away before I could get a hold of it. "Having some trouble there, little witch?" Selene laughed. "I'm afraid you'll find your magic quite useless here. We've taken some... precautions." That's when I noticed the faint shimmer in the air, the telltale sign of a powerful containment spell.
