Camila Harrington’s eyes suddenly stung watching how naturally gentle Prescott Ellington was with Lottie.
She quickly lowered her head. “I’ll grab the milk I made for Lottie.”
Before he could respond, she turned on her heels and walked into the kitchen quickly—less like she was leaving and more like she was fleeing.
Her tears had already started falling. If she stayed even a second longer, she was afraid Prescott and Lottie would both see her looking so pitiful.
She leaned against the kitchen wall, her mind a complete mess.
She really didn’t know what to do next. Prescott clearly adored the child, and Lottie needed her dad.
No matter how much she did as a mom, how perfectly she cared for her daughter, there were just things she couldn’t give—like a father’s love.
