“What’s up, Sullivan?” Camila Harrington asked softly.
Her calm, lowered voice seemed to carry in the still darkness, like a gentle feather brushing across Sullivan Fletcher’s otherwise impenetrable heart. His dark eyes flickered slightly, the emotion in them deepening.
Sullivan averted his gaze for a moment, as though not wanting her to catch the fleeting vulnerability in his expression.
“It’s not safe at night. I’ll walk you over.”
His tone was level, but there was a subtle firmness to his words, leaving little room for debate.
Camila had barely started to respond when Paul Hartwell stormed over, his face tight with anger. His glare was sharp enough to cut as he locked eyes with Sullivan.
