Skylar certainly hadn't expected Joseph to stop him. In Tenby, Joseph was notorious for his cold and distant demeanor. He never meddled in other people's business. And if he remembered correctly, the mess Elaine caused involved Joseph's uncle, Kevin. It was unlikely for Joseph to interfere. In the past, Kevin had done plenty of lawless things—even right under Joseph's nose. But Joseph had never so much as glanced his way. Yet, this was the same man who stepped in to help Elaine tonight. Skylar's gaze fell on the shirt Elaine was wearing, and in an instant, something clicked in his mind. This woman was utterly shameless. He didn't want to start a conflict with Joseph. They often crossed paths in the same business circles, and if they fell out, the consequences would be too great for him to handle. He wouldn't make such a foolish move.
