After taking the painting, Louisa left the ward without even giving it a second glance. She slipped it straight into her bag.
Now that Marcus had asked her so directly, she forced a stiff smile. "Of course I like it. I've always admired Ms. Ramsey's talent. And now, to suddenly get her autograph and even an original piece of her work, I'm so thrilled that I'm practically speechless."
The truth was, she really hadn't said much. Back in the ward, when she received Eileen's painting, all she'd said was a single "thank you". That was it.
Now that she had left the ward, she would've just kept the painting put away without mentioning it again if Marcus hadn't brought it up.
No matter how he looked at her, she didn't seem the least bit thrilled. However, he didn't push it and just simply led her out of the hospital.
