Chapter 69
Samuel's private villa was as heavily guarded as a fortress. Several black-suited bodyguards stood at attention, their gaze fixed forward.
Suddenly, a figure burst out from the side gate.
Milo Fisher was holding a young woman tightly in his arms as he sprinted along like the wind.
The young woman's face was pale as a sheet and looked drained of life. Around her neck was a glaring purplish bruise that stood out vividly.
Milo shoved her into a car that had been waiting in advance. The engine roared to life, and the vehicle shot off like an arrow, disappearing in a cloud of dust.
From behind the floor-to-ceiling windows on the second floor, Samuel stood there silently.
He watched the car intently until it disappeared from his sight. Only then did he slowly reach out and draw the heavy curtains close.
As the curtains fell shut, the murkiness in his eyes faded and was replaced by a cold and emotionless clarity.
Not a ripple of emotion crossed his face, let alone anything resembling
