Chapter 78
Callum quickly retrieved gauze and antiseptic from the car's first aid kit. He moved fast, tending to the deep gash on her arm with practiced urgency. His fingers and clothes were smeared with her blood, sticky and warm to the touch.
He cleaned and bandaged the wound with care, his movements as gentle as can be. Even so, they still made her tremble slightly.
After wrapping the wound, he checked for other injuries. "Where else does it hurt?" he asked, his voice strained.
Nadia's mind was a haze, as if wrapped in thick cotton. Her face was ghostly pale, her thoughts adrift.
He noticed the open collar of her shirt—the top buttons long gone.
His fingers trembled slightly as he fastened the remaining three, his fingertips brushing against her cold skin. The chill of her body only stoked the fire of rage burning violently inside him.
Whoever dared to harm her… He'd make them beg for death—only to deny them even that mercy. He'd rip them to pieces and grind their bones to dust.
