"Since you ran into me, your life wasn't meant to end," Callum said. His tone carried a teasing edge, but to Nadia, it felt like the truth.
He had saved her again. 12 years ago, it was he who had pulled her out of the water.
"Yes. Thank you… for saving me." Nadia looked up at him, not even trying to hide her gratitude.
Callum scoffed under his breath, though just moments ago, he had been scared half to death.
"You really can't swim? How did you even survive childhood?" His voice carried mockery, as if trying to ease the tension.
Nadia sniffled, her expression turning pitiful. "I used to know how."
"Used to?" He raised an eyebrow. Had she forgotten?
"Mr. Ford! Mr. Ford!"
Callum walked to the edge of the riverbank. Three horses galloped toward them from the hills, and two speedboats appeared on the water.
