Chapter 30: A Planned Surprise

The next day, Violet set out for Barnes. She didn't call Damien to intimate him about her trip back home. She wanted it to be a surprise. When she got to the airport, she found out that their trip was going to be delayed. The reason was due to the poor weather condition. She didn't want to go back to her mother's flat because she thought that she might be delayed and she didn't want to miss her flight. She decided to stay at the airport and wait till the weather became more favourable. While waiting, she picked her cell phone several times to call Damien but resisted the temptation. She tried Viola's line instead but it was still not available. She bought some newspaper and magazines to keep herself occupied and was reading when her phone rang. It was Damien. 'Violet, darling', he started. 'I am missing you terribly. Can what you are staying back to do over there not wait for a bit longer? I promise to accompany you when next you decide to go. But please come home'. Violet was tempted
