Apparently, Isabelle hadn't expected Celestia to just give up the breakfast that easily. She blinked, wide eyes full of surprise and a bit of disbelief as she stared at Celestia.
Right next to her, Jareth looked just as stunned-even more so, actually. His usually calm, unreadable face finally showed a flicker of emotion, and his dark, star-like eyes were locked onto Celestia with clear confusion.
Celestia caught both of their reactions, but her mind was too preoccupied. Flashbacks kept crashing against each other in her head, and she just didn't have the energy to react.
Honestly, she regretted even showing up for breakfast-so many emotions in such a short span, she was already drained. Her appetite had completely disappeared.
Still, she couldn't just walk away. So in the silence that followed, she reached out and picked up a pastry from the table.
