At her words, Jareth's face instantly tightened, brow furrowed hard, his expression cold and sharp.
"Are you threatening me?" he said through clenched teeth.
"I'm just giving you a heads-up," Celestia replied, her eyes lowering, voice chilly.
"If something were to happen to my dad, then everything between us is off the table. Unless that's what you want." She was done trying to negotiate with him-because that only meant staying under his thumb, stuck in his game.
He'd gone through so much trouble to trap her; she didn't believe for a second that he'd just let it all go to waste.
As she finished speaking, Jareth's face darkened even more.
He'd been expecting her to beg him, never thought she'd turn the tables. The rising anger twisted his features, making his face hard as stone, lips pressed into a thin, cold line.
