Chapter 36
Celestia glanced at Isabelle, whose face was tinted with guilt, and casually gave a small shake of her head.
"It's fine. That's all in the past. And really, it wasn't your fault. You didn't mean for it to happen."
Celestia may have taken it lightly, but the person next to her clearly didn't.
"Heh," Sophia let out a dry laugh, her eyes narrowing as she shot Isabelle a look packed with sarcasm.
"Whether it was on purpose or not, who can say?" Her slow, deliberate tone made Isabelle's smile freeze and her expression turn awkward on the spot.
Sophia had heard about what happened at the café. Unlike Celestia, she wasn't naïve or overly kind.
To her, this Isabelle character was trouble-definitely not some delicate damsel who just conveniently fainted at the most dramatic moment. The whole thing smelled off to her.
Under Sophia's unimpressed stare, Isabelle stiffened up. Her lips twitched, irritation flickering in her deep-set eyes. She clenched her fists behind her back, trying to keep calm.
