Celestia stepped into the room, took a deep breath, and finally managed to speak.
"Dad, Ethan..." But she couldn't even finish the sentence. Her voice caught just two words in, and she quickly looked away, trying to shove down the emotions that had started creeping up again.
Maybe it was better if she didn't ask anything at all-less room for her mind to wander where it shouldn't.
Henry slowly looked up at her, as if already guessing what she was about to say. "Ethan's pretty shaken," he said. "Before he completely lost it, I asked him to head home first. But I doubt he's gonna let this go so easily."
When he remembered how devastated Ethan had looked after Celestia's rejection, guilt washed over him. Ethan had always treated them so well-Henry couldn't help but feel like their family owed him.
