Chapter 94
Celestia had her eyes fixed on her, and just as she was about to step out the door, she suddenly came to a halt.
Sophia froze like a thought had just struck her. She paused mid-step, looked back at the confused Celestia, then curved her lips into a bright smile.
"Oh, right. If you ever change your mind, make sure to give me a call," she said casually, and then purposefully glanced over at Jareth.
"Or you can call my brother. You know his phone's always on for you. He'll be waiting anytime."
As soon as she finished, Jareth's face clouded over. His jaw clenched, a vein throbbed at his temple, and his eyes locked onto Celestia with a frostiness that could chill to the bone. The tension radiating off him was suffocating.
Seeing Jareth's reaction, the resentment in Sophia's chest seemed to melt away. "I'm off," she muttered with a shrug, then turned and walked out without another word.
