Chapter 14
Megan knew Caspian better than anyone. Once he set his sights on something, he wouldn't stop until he had it. So it didn't surprise her to find him waiting at her door early the next morning.
As soon as he saw her, Caspian held out a stack of photos.
"Meg, Arianna hurt you and slandered you. I've already punished her. Here's the proof."
Megan didn't bother to look at him. She walked right past him. "Not interested."
Whether Arianna lived or died had nothing to do with her. She had stopped caring long ago.
Before she could take another step, Caspian grabbed her wrist and pulled her back against his chest. His arm tightened around her waist as he said, "Meg, I know I was wrong. After you left, I realized I'd already fallen in love with you. I've punished Arianna. What else do you want me to do so you'll forgive me?"
He missed the way she cared for him, the way she smiled and called to him so sweetly, the way she reminded him of things each day, the way she held him.
