Aaron’s Soliloquy
I thought Ivy would come. I waited. But I was wrong. She flew to Islington with a friend. I had so many plans for us. Why couldn’t she believe me?
How do I live without her now?
She’s the last thought before I sleep and the first when I wake up.
I can’t do this. I just can’t.
The flight announcement jolted me. I found my seat, leaned back, and closed my eyes—but her face wouldn’t leave my mind. At some point, I drifted off.
A familiar scent stirred me. My eyes blinked open. I turned to my left.
Two beautiful eyes stared back.
"You’re disturbing my sleep," Ivy whispered. "I woke up too early for this."
“Ivy… am I dreaming?” My voice cracked with disbelief.
She smiled.

How could you think I’d leave you like that?
I pulled him close and kissed him—deeply. I forgot we were on a plane until I heard a child’s voice, “Momma, kiss.” His mother quickly shielded his eyes. I chuckled mid-kiss.
