Ivy’s Thoughts, "Aaron… I know you’re not ready. You pretend to be strong, but your heart’s too soft. You’re scared—scared of losing your family, scared of breaking everything apart. But I see you. I know how deeply you love all of us. And that’s why I’ll stand by you, always. Don’t worry. Your Ivy is here." Ivy stayed home from college that day, resting and letting her body recover. Throughout the day, she ran into Jack a few times, but he remained distant and silent. She tried to start a conversation, hoping he’d open up. But Jack said nothing. He brushed past her like a stranger, no matter how many times she’d told him before to share whatever was on his mind. He’s so stubborn, she thought with a sigh. That boy just won’t talk. By the afternoon, Ivy’s physical pain had lessened. Aaron came home earlier than usual that day. Late at Night, Ivy sat up in bed, surprised when her father entered with a warm bowl of food. He fed her quietly, then urged her to rest before turning to leave.
