"You’ve been defeated."
“Damn it!” Jack muttered, yanking off his headphones and tossing them aside. He leaned back in frustration, running a hand through his hair. What’s wrong with me? I can’t focus on anything.
With a sigh, he stepped out onto the porch. The night air was cool against his skin as he lifted his gaze to the sky. The moon hung quietly above, soft and steady. A small smile curved his lips.

He sighed again and walked back into his room, shutting the door behind him. He dropped onto his bed, rubbing his face with both hands.
