Chapter 1 Dump The Kids At Orphanage

Allison drove her black Mercedes inside the compound, she was coming from the hospital to check the state of her babies; she was carrying a twin. Allison was married to Billy Benson, one of the richest billionaires in the United States. She hopped out of the car, carrying her black Louis Vuitton bag on her shoulder. She strutted inside the mansion. On her way in, one of the guards outside helped her with her bag and handed it over to one of the maids inside. She and the maid ascended the grand and luxurious staircase, made of marble, and granite with intricate carving and ornate bannisters, it was wide and swiping with a graceful curve. When they got to the door, Allison collected the bag from her, “You can go back now, thank you, Hannah.” She entered the room and breathed deeply as she sank on the bed. She took out the ultrasound and kept looking at her twin images. “Can’t wait to have you guys,” she muttered to herself. She strolled into the bathroom to shower before dinner; washing away the remnant of the day. She changed into something more comfortable and descended the stairs. She made her way to the kitchen to inspect the chefs if they were done with the dinner, they were not but almost done. She made her way to the living room. She switched the TV show to her favourite channel, and while she was savouring the show she heard the engine sound of Billy’s car. “Billy’s back,” she muttered to herself. Billy walked in as she had anticipated. She marched to him, embraced him with a hug and kissed him on his lips. They both ascended the stairs to their bedroom. Billy took off his jacket and was loosening his tie, standing in front of the mirror. “How was your day darling?” she inquired, trying to start a conversation while sitting at the edge of the bed. “It was great and you,” he replied staring at his reflection as he loosened his tie. Exactly the question she wanted to hear. “My day was great, I went to the hospital today.” “For what? Are you fine?” He asked tilting his head in her direction. “I’m, it was because of our baby,” she said softly, “Our baby?” he said. “Yes our baby,” she said, placing her hand on her belly. “Why did you sound surprised, you know you were the one who was supposed to take me to the hospital. I feel bad when I see other couples checking the state of their baby together.” “Thank God you mentioned the word ‘their baby’,” he said. “What do you mean? Is this not also our baby?” she inquired curiously, eager to know what Billy meant. “It’s not our baby, it’s your baby,” Billy said. “My baby? Seriously, when did it become my baby,” she said with a stupefied look on her face. “Are you saying you’re not the father of the baby?” “Am I?” He inquired, staring at her. The babies were brought to life by IVF with another person's sperm because Billy has a low sperm count. He was the one who suggested it due to the pressure his mum had placed on him about having a grandchild. Allison refused at first but agreed with him because of the love she had for Billy. “Of course you are,” she said with her tone laced with anger. “You dragged me into this, you were the one who insisted on the IVF of a thing and you can’t back out now. They’re seven months already.” “I understand that you can’t abort it and I’m not asking you to,” he said with a soft voice as he took off his suit trousers. “When you give birth to them, we take them to the orphanage and we will have another babies that belong to us.” He walked to the bathroom as he uttered his words, she was taken aback by Billy’s words. “You’re joking right?” she said as she moved to the bathroom. “I won’t take them to the orphanage, they are my child, they deserve to be shown love and I will do anything to keep them by my side.” “Anything? Even divorce?” he asked while he was in the bathroom, with his voice echoing. He turned on the shower, shutting off her voice with the sound of the water. He walked out of the bathroom and said, “What’re you saying?” Allison was at the bedside with tears rolling down her face, “are you serious about having a divorce if I don’t drop the baby?” “Of course I am,” he said as he was trying to get into something more comfortable. “What’s wrong with you Billy? You suggested the IVF and now you’re telling me to throw the baby to an orphanage house.” “Do you want me to spend money and show love to kids that don’t belong to me?” he inquired. “Why are you behaving strangely to this, you’re acting as if I am forcing you to accept a baby. This baby was your idea.” “You’re right about that, it’s my idea and I’m updating the idea to dump them at the orphanage and cut ties with them.” He said in a commanding tone. “Just like that? What has come over you? Do you even consider the bond that’s between me and the baby? Or do you think it’s easy to have a baby for nine months and dump them at the orphanage? They’re twin for crying out loud.” She said with tears rolling down her eyes. “I’m done here. The dinner should be ready by now, we will talk about this later.” He said and walked out of the room. “Don’t go anywhere let’s finish this,” she said as he watched him walk out of the bedroom. “What has come over him? How can he change so fast like that.” Allison was silenced for some while; thinking, trying to find a solution to what was happening. She couldn’t report to her mum because his mum believed that the child belonged to her son, Billy. The IVF was a secret between the two of them; Billy and Allison. His mum wasn’t aware that her son had a low sperm count. Allison doesn’t want to betray his trust by telling her mother, so his mother is out of the equation. She keeps cracking her head to find the best solution to the situation on the ground. She couldn’t tell her father because her father would tell her to follow Billy’s wish. Allison was from a poor background, and her father has always seen Billy as someone who will change their family’s history and he will always advise Allison to follow Billy’s wish even though it wouldn’t cost her daughter, Allison’s happiness. She decided to go meet Billy’s friend, Nicolas to ask for help. She sauntered out of her room and descended the stairs. She settled at the bottom of the dining table staring at Billy who was at the head of the table. “Move closer darling,” he said as he was chewing his favourite Italian food; fettuccine alfredo. “I’m okay here,” she said sharply. She begins to savour the Italian meal, every bit reminds her of the statement Billy has said to her. “Won’t take them to the orphanage, if he wants a divorce so be it.” She whispered to herself.
