Calliope couldn't believe her ears. Seriously, how could a man be this shameless?
She was so mad she almost flipped the whole damn plate of fish.
What she really wanted was to stand up and slap him across the face, hard.
But years of good manners held her back.
She took a deep breath, lifted her head slowly, eyes as cold as frost, burning with hatred.
"Lucien, I don't owe you anything."
"Can you just give it a rest and leave me alone?"
Lucien's heart skipped a beat, caught off guard. But he still clung to his pride and said, "You used to cook fish for me, in all kinds of ways. You'd even pick out all the tiny bones before serving it."
Then he turned to Conrad with a smug look. "Has she ever done that for you?"
"I don't need her to," Conrad leaned back coolly in his chair, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. "But you, Mr. Sterling, keep showing up to remind me how much my wife used to pine for you."
"What? Your girlfriend isn't giving you enough attention, so you run to mine to fish for
