Conrad Hilliard had just peeled off his training gear and was about to text his wife to see if she wanted a ride back to the apartment when the urgent report came through.
In a split second, his easygoing vibe vanished. His sharp eyes turned ice-cold, and a deadly, hard-edged aura filled the room.
He barked toward the door, "Brandon!"
Brandon Price had been shooting the breeze with the guys but jumped up instantly at the shout. "Here, Captain Hilliard!"
Conrad’s voice was all steel. "Grab two men, gear up. We’re moving out."
"Yes, sir!"
Brandon didn’t hesitate. He called over two teammates.
But instead of heading to the usual equipment room, they turned down a hallway and stopped in front of an unmarked storage room deep inside the station.
Once the heavy metal door shut behind them, the scene inside was jaw-dropping.
No hoses. No axes. Just wall-to-wall firepower: gleaming rifles, high-caliber weapons, and tactical gear lined up like an armory
