Adora let out a soft whimper, clearly conflicted. She was worried that Nathaniel would probably feel very disappointed and sad if she refused. The atmosphere in the room grew tense. Nathaniel was at a loss. Even if he managed to soothe Adora, Asher would likely cause a fuss when it was his turn for bed. After all, Adora was willing to listen to him, but Asher was not. Just as he was feeling completely stuck, Lionel walked in, lugging two large suitcases. They were filled with children's clothes, looking like he had emptied their entire wardrobe. Lionel was unsure how long the current state of emergency would last, so he brought all the kids' fall and winter clothes just in case. With Lionel's arrival, Nathaniel felt relieved as they could each handle one child and get them to sleep.
