Julia hung up again. The receptionist shot Sebastian an apologetic glance. It seemed like the couple was in the middle of a fight. Still, she couldn't help but admire Julia. It took guts to look Sebastian in the face and still argue with him. Sebastian didn't notice the starry-eyed look the receptionist was giving him. He simply handed over the insulated food container. "Take this up to her and make sure she eats it while it's still hot. Don't—" He stopped himself, holding back the rest of his words. He didn't want Julia to think he was nagging. The receptionist, feeling oddly flattered, agreed quickly. She was careful not to brush his hand as she took the container, then swiped her card for the elevator. During overtime hours, only one staff member manned the desk. Sebastian glanced at his phone, then let his gaze drift around the lobby before settling into a seat in the guest waiting area. He busied himself with his phone, though no one could tell exactly what he was doing.
