Chapter 22
Gabriel jolted awake, gasping for air. The first thing he saw was Linda's anxious face hovering over him.
"Are you okay, Gabriel?" she asked, her voice full of concern.
Gabriel couldn't think of anything but Eliana. All he wanted was to find her. If he could just go back to the day before everything fell apart, he was sure he could make things right.
But no matter how much he wanted to move, his body wouldn't listen. Instead, he found himself smiling at Linda. He said, "It's nothing. Let's go. I already called Eliana and asked her to pick up the kids."
No, this wasn't right. This wasn't how things should be.
Linda nodded and followed him onto the train.
They rode for more than ten hours until they reached the island.
