A simple cough was enough to silence the driver, Nessa. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she glanced nervously at the rearview mirror. When her eyes met Charlotte's, she could tell from the latter's strange expression that something was amiss. Instantly, a wave of unease washed over Nessa.
