Chapter 19
At first light, Wendy was already standing inside the storefront of the restaurant, busy with renovation work.
She held the design layout in her hands, contemplating placing two pots of plants near the window. She also wanted to make sure customers could see the street view from their seats and making the kitchen window wider, so the aroma of cooking could drift farther.
When Theodore walked in, he happened to see her on tiptoe, sticking a note onto the wall. Sunlight fell across her side profile, highlighting her quiet vitality.
"Need help?" He set his keys down and casually took the roll of tape from her hand. He moved as if he had done the task a thousand times.
Wendy blinked in surprise, then smiled. "Thank you."

For the next week, the two of them practically lived at the restaurant.
Wendy checked the colors with the carpenters while simultaneously adjusting her recipe notes. Meanwhile, Theodore contacted suppliers and even installed some of the lights himself.
