Vincent's fingers lingered on the screen for a moment before he slid the phone back into his pocket like nothing had happened.
Perhaps out of guilt, he looked up again at Diana after that. However, she was too focused on serving food to Jason, seemingly unaware of his odd behavior.
"Grandpa, I need to step outside and take a call," Vincent said while trying to maintain his composure.
Jason nodded without asking further.
Diana's movement paused momentarily as she was choosing the dish, but quickly resumed as if she had heard nothing.
"Diana, how are things between you and Vincent lately?" Jason asked as he glanced at her with warmth in his eyes.
Diana offered a gentle smile and replied softly, "Grandpa, there's no need to worry. Vincent and I grew up together—no walls will ever rise between us."
