Chapter 11
Ronaim forgot about anything else. She just threw herself to Nathan and begged him ceaselessly, "Nathan, I promise, I will never take the child to threaten you! When the movie is finished...No, no, I'll quit the shooting now. I'll leave immediately. I will never show up in front of you again! Nathan, I beg you, let me keep the baby. Let's go get divorced now. I'll leave and never show up again..."
Her tears rolled down along her cheeks like pearls. She was heartbroken thinking of leaving Nathan, but she had to save her child. In the beginning, she wanted to use a child to repair her broken marriage, but now when her child's life was at risk, she wanted nothing else but the child. She was willing to do anything to exchange for her child's life.
After getting divorced, the child would be her only hope.
She sat on the ground and bemoaned, "Please, please..."
Nathan closed his eyes to hide his emotion. He bent over and grabbed Ronaim's collar, fiercely said, "Sign the paper and get lost immediately! Never show up again, or I have a lot of other ways to make you live in hell."
After finished his words, he walked out of the room, only left Ronaim on the floor.
She buried her head in her lap and cried.
After a long while, she smiled again. At least the child was kept.
Ronaim's body continued to bleed and she did not dare to disobey the doctor and stayed in the hospital for examination.
The doctor said the fetus oppressed the liver, which made her worried. She quietly waited for the test result.
Before the check-up result came out, Nathan walked into the ward with a divorce agreement, followed by Karen and Yvette, who would soon become her former mother-in-law.
"Ronaim!" Yvette was furious and she slapped Ronaim on the face as soon as she saw her. "Everyone thought it was an accident. And it turned out to be caused by somebody. Nathan kept it from me until today. I just knew that my daughter Nina died because of you!
Nina was only six years old, and she died in that way! And you could still lead a luxurious life, why? " She gnashed her teeth as if she would devour Ronaim. "The little b*stard in your belly, if Nathan agreed to you to keep it, I'll let it go. But remember, when you sign the divorce agreement, you get out of the entertainment business forever, and you take your little b*stard, get out of the city, forever!"
"Mom, I didn't kill your daughter. It wasn't me." Ronaim wanted to explain, but nobody listened.
"Don't call me Mom. You don't deserve it!" Yvette raised her hand and gave her another slap again.
Ronaim, holding a pen, trembled to sign her name on the divorce agreement.
Nathan had a cold face and nobody could read what was in his mind.
When the divorce agreement was signed, Yvette immediately called the doctor. "Kick her out of here. This is our family-owned hospital. We don't welcome this vicious woman!"
Ronaim dropped her eyes, got to her feet decisively, and stepped out of the room without the nurse coming to help.
When she walking to the door, she turned back, whispered, "Nathan, you had a car accident. Your health is not so well. Remember to quit smoking and drinking."
"Get out!" Yvette roared and picked up a water glass on the table and threw it at her.
Ronaim dodged it by a fraction of a second, stumbled across the corridor and out of the hospital.
Karen patted Yvette on the back of her hand and said softly, "Auntie, don't get angry. That woman and Nathan are divorced and will never piss you again. Calm down, take care of your health."
"Don't call auntie anymore," Yvette said with a smile. "You and Nathan should hurry up and get engaged. Have you picked the date?"
Karen dropped her head shyly. She was absolutely okay with the arrangement.
Nathan nodded. "Mom, you decide."
