The Court family often insulted and criticized Isabel in front of Kendall. No one had ever thought anything was wrong with that. But that day, Kendall found their words to be particularly piercing. He wouldn't deny that Isabel had made some mistakes, but it was also true that she was the victim in the plagiarism incident. He didn't think she would return any time soon if the Courts continued to bully her like this. Kendall put his wine glass down and stood up as Gordon and Linda looked at him expectantly. "The past is in the past. Winnie has suffered some grievances, but so has Izzy. I'll make things up to Winnie in the future, and I'll take good care of Izzy. I hope you'll stop saying these things when Izzy is around." He sounded polite, yet his presence turned domineering. It made the Courts realize that he wasn't just the man they hoped would soon join their family—he was also the Johnson family's sole heir. Felix didn't say anything while Gordon and Linda didn't dare make a sou
