The housekeeper pushed the meal cart into the room. Even though Tara said it would be fine, this hadn't been cleared with Russell. Lance didn't know about it either. The housekeeper felt a little uneasy.
As she walked in, Lance looked up. His handsome face showed no expression, but those pitch-black eyes were colder than the snow outside.
The housekeeper didn't notice the change in his gaze. "Mr. Swain, Tara's a little tied up, so I'm bringing you dinner instead."
Lance's tone was flat, as usual. "Okay."
After the housekeeper pushed the cart out of the room, Lance stared at the black card on the coffee table and let out a quiet laugh. But the laugh was enough to send a chill down anyone's spine. "Bold move."
At that moment, Tara pushed the meal cart into Soren's room. He was the one who opened the door.
Soren quietly observed her. She didn't seem overly tired. It looked like Lance hadn't gone too far. But he wasn't sure if Tara had already agreed to be Lance's girlfriend.
