Chapter 5 I’m Lucky Enough To Enjoy Mr. Blake’s Breakfast

Upon hearing this, Anna was stunned as her eyes went black. She then spoke to Curtis while holding onto his shirt, “Brother Curtis, I was too reckless last night. I’ve disturbed your time with Sis Julia yesterday. Can you ask her to stay and have breakfast with us? As my apology to her, is that alright?” I… Haha, indeed, some ladies really did not need to work hard for it. They just knew how to act like a baby to acquire something that others could not enjoy. Initially, Curtis was unmoved when he saw me appear in the kitchen. However, when Anna mentioned it, he glanced at me and ordered, “Stay and eat with us!” A harsh and commanding tone. Did it hurt? I was used to it. I nodded and replied with a smile, “Well, thank you!” As for Curtis, I still could not totally reject him because he was someone I loved at first sight. Hence, it was tough for me to let him go. I was lucky enough to enjoy the breakfast made by Curtis. He made toast and eggs, and although it was something ordinary, it was not normal. I always believed that a man like Curtis was loved by God himself that his hands were used to ordering people around. “Sister Julia, you’d try Brother Curtis’ fried egg. It’s delicious. He always cooks for me when we’re together.” While Anna was speaking, she placed the fried egg onto my plate. Anna passed one for Curtis as well. Later, she said, smiling, “Brother Curtis, you promised to accompany me to sightsee around Riverville today. Don’t break your promise.” “Okay!” Curtis replied to her before he enjoyed his breakfast gracefully. He was a quiet person, but he seemed to answer every question that Anna threw at him. Edward looked like he had already used to all of these. He was watching us like an outsider while enjoying his breakfast handsomely as well. I lowered my gaze as I frowned subconsciously. That day was his grandfather’s funeral, but if Curtis just left with Anna like this, what about the matters in the Blake residence then… No one could enjoy that breakfast. Therefore, I had a few bites, and I put down my spoon as I followed Curtis to the bedroom when he said that he wanted to get dressed. In the bedroom. Curtis knew that I was behind him, so he asked indifferently, “Anything?” While Curtis was speaking, he removed his shirt casually, and his hunky figure was exposed. Instinctively, I turned around, my back facing him. “Today’s your grandfather’s funeral!” There was a series of rustling sounds coming from behind me, I could even hear the sound of a zipper being pulled. After that, Curtis answered me emotionlessly, “You go then.” I scowled. “Curtis, he’s your grandfather.” He was their family’s eldest son. Therefore, if he was not there, what would the other family members think about him? “I already have Cedric to settle the funeral, so talk to him if there’s anything else.” His words were emotionless as though he was talking about something unimportant. When I saw him walking toward the study, I raised my voice and uttered in a sorrowful tone, “Curtis, aside from Anna, is everybody replaceable to you? What's your family to you?” He stopped and turned around to look at me with his squinted eyes. Curtis then uttered with an unfriendly attitude, “Our family business is none of your concern.” Curtis paused for a moment. He then opened his mouth and said ironically, “You’re not fit to do so!” Those words were like a bucket of cold water poured on me from above, sending chills to my limbs and causing goosebumps. I could not help but laugh while listening to his footsteps getting further away from me. I am not fit to do so! Haha! Even after 2 years, I still could not warm a stone that was as cold as ice. “I thought you’re just shameless, yet I never imagined that you’re a busybody too.” A sneer came from behind. I looked back just to realize Anna was leaning against the door with both of her arms across her chest. The innocence and cute look on her face were long gone, left only with wickedness.
