After receiving confirmation from the prosecutor's office that charges would be filed, the Torres family all breathed a sigh of relief.
They handed over the rest of the legal matters to their attorney and returned to Maldrio. Though they'd left their hometown behind, all the stress and entanglements were left behind with it, too.
Mia finally felt like she could relax. Day by day, she gradually adapted to life in this new place.
When her parents asked about her plans for the future, Mia blinked and popped a piece of fruit into Isabel's mouth.
"Mom, I've actually been thinking about that lately. I'd love to go back to school, but I'm also considering taking a break to work for a while, just to get a taste of the real world. What do you guys think?"
