Chapter 11
Before long, Eva went right back to her "usual" self.
Seeing the worried look on her face, Timothy pushed aside that strange, unsettling feeling from earlier and forced himself to respond through the pain. "It must've been a mistake from the police station. There's no way Tessa and I are divorced."
He kept repeating the same thing, partly to answer Eva, but mostly to comfort himself.
Eva wasn't about to let this opportunity slip by. She asked tentatively, "Timothy, since you and Tessa are already divorced, why don't we just go register our marriage?"
"What did you just say?" He snapped his head toward her, and his eyes were filled with rage as he said, "I told you, Tessa and I are not divorced. Why are you jumping in with all this nonsense?"
Eva had wanted to cozy up to him and act cute like she always did.
