Chapter 12

The rate of vampire invasion in the city had increased more than usual. Steel allocated armies to surveil every corners of the city at night to avoid making a mess. The job of the armies' Steel allocated was not just to stop the vampire invasion but also to hunt down humans have been turned. Detective cooper has kept Watch on violet a few times now. He found her interesting after all. He only found out that she is dating a married man but that wouldn't build his case. He backed up for a while when he realized that the only shady thing about her was her dating a married man and that talking she talks to herself when she's alone. If he was going to build a spooky case, she would be the perfect fit. He recently got report of a similar case recently but in this case a body wasn't found and it didn't happen in Pennywise street but it happened miles away from there. A young man left his workshop in the evening and was attacked on his way home. That was all he remembered till he found himself on the floor of the entrance of his workshop the next morning, and several other cases like this have been reported. Now the report is piling up with no solution. So he decided to pay Violet a visit. Violet was doing her laundry and some house chores but she kept peeping through the window like she was expecting someone. Mara had watched her for a while and had to ask her at some point. was to ask what's first to ask who she was what she was expecting "Are you expecting someone? You keep looking out of the windows" She curiously asked. "Oh, no its nothing. I'm just a bit traumatized by the bat invasion. I feel like the sky might just do something strange anytime soon. I told you that I was attacked by bats remember? I feel like we might get ambushed again." But that was a lie she was actually expecting someone. She was she was expecting Steel. "I was scared to death on that day, I tried to go outside but the wind sent me packing. Oh god I'm creeped out please don't remind me" Mara said running to her room. Violet phone beeped and she saw notifications of missed calls from Chris and her anger sprung up again. She thought she had blocked him already but remembered that she only blocked him on her social platform. She vowed to herself not to see him again till she is sure that the divorce has been finalized. if we really wanted to divorce his wife, she didn't see why I was still keeping their relationship a secret. She then proceeded to blocked his phone number. She finished with her chores and turned on the television, to continue her series from where she left it then she heard a knock at the door. She hurried to the door like an anxious puppy all to see Detective Cooper. Her anxiousness departed immediately. For a minute she thought it was Steel but she also realized that she doesn't stay alone anymore so the last time she saw him might be the last time. The thought made her really sad and the detective could see the disappointment on her face. "Wow you seem unhappy to see me. Were you expecting someone else?" He asked. "How may I help you officer?" She ignored his question. "May I come in?" He asked as she didn't offer. She gave him a sizing look and invited him in. "Can I offer you tea or beer?" She grumbled the words hoping he didn't hear her. "Oh no I'm fine, you're too kind. Thank you." He smiled. "So how have you been coping, were you able you set an appointment with the therapist I introduced you to?" Violet was clueless. She searches through her brain if she can remember anything about a therapist. "What therapists." She asked. "I gave you her card the last time we met." Cooper reminded her. "Oh that? No I'm fine I don't need a therapist." She dismissed the conversation. "So any improvements in your memory? Do you still don't remember anything that happened that night or how you go home?" He asked. "I don't remember anything. I thought I dropped this case. I'm fine Now, I'm better. Is that why you came here?" She said with irritation. "Yes, good. It's a good thing that you're fine. But there have been some reports of missing people and people that have similar experiences like you. So I'm trying to link the case together." "Oh so Were they able to remember anything that happened to them." She asked. "No they are as blank as you are. But the difference between them and you is that they haven't let go of the case so easily, they are a bit more concerned and scared everyday about the issue that you seem to have moved on to." He added "What am I supposed to do? I have no memory of what happened. The stranger that attacked me was killed by a wild animal or something I don't know what but whatever happens to him is what he deserved. He attacked me and he would have done worse." She said "Unless you think I had something to do with his death… wait am I a murder suspect here? Is that what this is all about?" She asked angrily. "Oh no, I mean you couldn't do that. There were animal marks on his body and even if it wasn't an animal how can you take down someone who is three times your size." He let out a laugh. "I'm getting a misogynistic vibe here Detective…" she gave him an angry look. "Oh I'm sorry about that. I meant size-wise…I mean don't worry" He struggled to explain. "Have you considered the possibility of this being more than the ordinary?" She asked him giving the most serious look. "What do you mean?" He said and listened more attentively with the hope that he was getting somewhere. "I mean aliens! Like an alien invasion. Maybe they come to take us at night to their planets using our bodies for their pleasure and then erase our memory when they are done. What if they are planning an invasion and their plan is to take us one by one and input a chip in our body to make it easier to conquer the…" "God no more!" the detective did not know when he yelled out. He shook his head and stood up in frustration. "Well, Violet. Let me leave you alone. I don't want to take too much of your time." "Oh I don't have much to do, if you are not going anywhere else we can sit to discuss more alien possibilities and research about them" "No thank you, You're probably expecting someone before I came in anyway. But you can visit the station if you have any useful information." He said and hurriedly left her house. "Have a nice day!" She said as she slammed the door behind him and busted into laughter for a moment. Then she thought about what the detective said about people having gone through the same experience. She wondered if steel was also involved in all that. She took out her little note where she jotted all the questions she wanted to ask him when they meet again. She paused for a minute and thought of the possibility of never seeing him again and that made her sad. This made her wonder if her life was so boring that she needed a vampire to help spice it up. She shook her head at herself and went to her room to take a nap. *** Steel called Dr. Jackson immediately. Dr Jackson is the scientist who designed the confinement where the Star stone. The room was fortified with titanium, silver and other vampire and wolf repellant. So he was the only one who could take it out because he is and he is Steel's personal scientist and the only human who knew the content of the room. Dr. Jackson handed the stone to Steel and Steel immediately took the stone to Dominique to keep. Dominique secured the stone and bound it with a powerful spell. "You have to look for somewhere more secure as soon as possible, this is temporary remember that." Dominique said. Unknown them that they were being watched.
