I watched the taxi round and exited the corner before I sighed deeply and held my aching stomach. I walked back into the house and met the glaring eyes of my sister.

I woke up with a strong determination today. After talking with Rayyan last night, I've felt more encouraged to talk to them so I called in the morning and requested to see Dr Yahya. He had kept quiet for a while and then said yes.



After the phone call, I walked to my mother's room and gently knocked on the door. There was silence and after three knocks, she opened the door and looked at me

As we walked further, Rayyan walked to a hallway and minutes later, the young woman in the portrait came out and gasped

Both she and Rayyan paused as she said that. And in an apologetic glance to Rayyan, she turned to me with her initial excitement.

She pulled me into a hug patting my back slightly and then keeping me at arm length to observe me "You're so pretty"
