I stared hard at the mirror and tugged my beanie cap, securing it on my head. My eyes were starting to look hollow and that, for the first time scares me.



It shouldn't scare me, it never scared me. So why now? What changed?



The door opened and Binta peeked in "Are you leaving?



"Yes"



"Breakfast?



I was about to shake my head when I decided against it and replied "Yes please, I'm coming down in a minute"



She nodded and closed the door while I stared at myself yet again before standing up, grabbing my phone and walking down the stairs. We sat at the dining table together with my sister, her children and her husband.



Her husband had looked at me when we were eating and said "Rayyan you're looking tired. Do you take your medications?



I nodded "Yes I do"



He said nothing and the dining fell into light conversation. After break

After praying asr, we left the house with Rayyan trailing behind us. He had assured me that my parent would be found and I will be home.



I almost wanted to ask him if he feels the peaceful sheet that covers us while we talk. Right here, at the side of the road. I wanted to ask him if he sees the soft rays that circles us, the gentle aura that glows between us.



I wanted to tell him how I want to find my parent but not really my home. Because home was him, home only felt right with him.



But I didn't, I had nodded and thanked him then turned and reluctantly walked to meet Rahma as we hailed the taxi and drove home.

I woke up with a strong determination today. After talking with Rayyan last night, I've felt more encouraged to talk to them so I called in the morning and requested to see Dr Yahya. He had kept quiet for a while and then said yes.



After the phone call, I walked to my mother's room and gently knocked on the door. There was silence and after three knocks, she opened the door and looked at me

"I would like to talk to you"
