James walked into the house, looking completely drained. He never expected Emily to hit back so hard, especially not by teaming up with the Ellis Group. After shutting down yet another proposal from the Taylor Group, the Carter Corporation was losing ground fast. And so was he. He'd asked his assistant to dig into the past, but days had passed without a word. Meanwhile, Lucas had already found something. That just made James even more suspicious. His mind drifted to Sophie over at the villa. He dialed the number— A housekeeper picked up. "Sir, Miss Sophie isn't back yet," the voice said. "It's this late?" James frowned. "Yes sir, she said she's been going for beauty treatments lately and returns really late." He hung up without giving it much thought. At the same time, in some tucked-away old house, two bare bodies were tangled up in passion. The man moved on top of her, breathing hard. "Once you move out of Carter's place, we'll have way more fun." He thrust in sharply, making Sophie
