"Yes, that's Wendy. She's always been jealous of me since we were young, thinking I was going to steal what belonged to her." Jenna spoke grievously, gasping every once in a while as if the pain in her leg was unbearable.
The doctor frowned and glanced at her, then silently shook his head.
Jenna looked at him, unsure what that meant, but continued talking away.
"She's actually been fighting with her husband. She doesn't even care about her child anymore. I couldn't bear to see the child neglected, so I stepped in to help—that's what led to her misunderstanding."
"You don't need to explain that to me. I'm a doctor, not a policeman."
Jenna was stunned for a moment, then closed her mouth, disappointed.
